Qantas to Resume Flights to Delhi Soon

Qantas has just announced the date of its return to Delhi, India.

The Australian airline has revealed the date for the reopening of its flights between Delhi and Melbourne. It will serve its first flight on October 27, and plans to operate three flights per week between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport and Melbourne until March 28, 2026.

“We are pleased to be relaunching our service from Delhi and look forward to seeing more of our passengers travel on this route,” said Vanessa Hudson, CEO of Qantas.

Throughout the Australian summer season, Qantas will schedule three departures in each directions. The flights, operated by two-class A330s (28 + 243), will take place every Saturday, Monday, and Thursday, departing from Melbourne International Airport at 6:45 p.m. (arriving in Delhi at 4:50 p.m.). Return flights are scheduled during the day at 6:45 p.m., arriving at the Australian airport the following day at 12:35 p.m. (local time).

Cricket, a weapon of mass attraction for Indian tourists

The reopening of this route coincides with the planned start of a cricket series between India and Australia at the end of November. This special sporting event could attract thousands of Indian sports fans. According to Phillipa Harrison, CEO of Tourism Australia, this competition has already generated five times more bookings from Indian tourists.
