Qantas is relaunching its Double Status Credits (or Double Points) promotion, allowing members of its Qantas Frequent Flyer loyalty program to double their Status Credits on eligible flight bookings.
The idea is simple: during the promotional period, which runs from August 26 to September 2, 2026, each eligible flight booked earns twice as many Status Credits or twice as many Qantas Points, depending on the traveler’s choice. This choice must be made only once for the entire promotional period; it is not possible to select a different reward for each flight.
However, while the promotion is active, it remains possible to change your mind and switch between options as many times as you like, with the final selection being the one recorded at the time the offer closes.
For many frequent flyers, this type of promotion represents a rare opportunity to significantly accelerate their progression to a higher status: Silver, Gold, Platinum, or even Platinum One, without actually increasing the number of flights taken. It’s also a chance for others to more quickly rebuild their points balance for a future ticket or upgrade, without necessarily aiming for a status change.
How to participate?

You must register beforehand via the Qantas app or the official website before making your booking. For bookings with multiple passengers, each passenger must register individually for the offer and link their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number to the booking for the bonus to be applied to their account.
Which flights are eligible?
Only flights operated and marketed by Qantas with a “QF” flight number, are eligible for the double bonus. This includes certain routes operated on behalf of Qantas by regional partners such as Alliance Airlines, National Jet, Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines, and Sunstate, as well as Finnair flights operated under a wet-lease agreement for Qantas.
Conversely, Jetstar flights and flights operated by partner airlines (Emirates, American Airlines, etc.) are excluded from the offer, even if they carry a QF code as part of a codeshare agreement.
It is worth noting that there is no limit to the number of eligible bookings a single traveller can make during the promotional period.
An important detail regarding booking changes:
Any cancellation of a reservation made after the end of the promotional period will automatically cancel the Double Points offer.
In other words, a ticket replaced or rebooked after the deadline will no longer be eligible for the double discount, even if it is for a flight that would otherwise have met all the requirements.
The special case of Bonus Status Credits
Travelers who opt for Double Status Credits should keep one point in mind: these bonus credits do count towards Lifetime Status, but they are not included in certain specific program features, such as loyalty bonuses, Platinum bonus rewards, Platinum One bonus rewards, or status accelerators/challenges.
Credit processing time and accepted payment methods
Once the trip is completed, bonus Status Points or Credits are credited to the member’s account within up to eight weeks. Regarding payment, Qantas gift vouchers and certain flight credits can still be used for bookings within this offer, provided the flight credit was issued before the promotion began. “Book now, pay later” bookings are also eligible, as long as the ticket is fully paid for and issued within the offer’s timeframe.
