Virgin Australia announces new promotions

Virgin Australia held its most recent flash sale on Thursday, July 16, 2026, as part of its weekly “Happy Hour Sale” promotion. The Australian airline is thus continuing its strategy of recurring promotions aimed at boosting bookings on its domestic network.

The sale ran from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. featuring discounted fares on a selection of one-way and round-trip flights, available exclusively in Economy Lite and Economy Choice cabins.

This sale is part of a particularly frequent series of promotions at Virgin Australia since the beginning of 2026. Last April, the airline launched its Supercharged Sale, a larger-scale promotion that put more than 1.5 million discounted seats on sale across its entire domestic network, with fares starting at $55 (Sydney–Ballina/Byron Bay). This offer remains valid for travel between July 22, 2026, and March 27, 2027.

Virgin Australia is also running an international promotion, “Welcome Abroad,” targeting short-haul destinations such as Bali and Fiji, with tickets on sale through August 19, 2026, on select routes.

Examples of current Virgin Australia Happy Hour Sale offers:

– Adelaide – Melbourne: from $99
– Brisbane – Cairns: from $95
– Gold Coast – Canberra: from $89
– Sydney – Launceston: from $79

What this means for travelers:

The weekly Happy Hour Sale schedule allows flexible travelers to check prices every Thursday. However, the most attractive fares are subject to the restrictive terms of the Economy Lite cabin: no checked baggage, no seat selection, and no changes or cancellations allowed after purchase.

The airline invites travelers to sign up for its V-mail newsletter to be notified of the launch of each new sale.
