Singapore continues to attract Australian travelers and Singapore Airlines has just provided further concrete proof by announcing an increase in capacity between Singapore and Adelaide, the main gateway to South Australia.
The Singaporean national carrier plans to offer more than 1,300 additional seats per week to and from Adelaide. Specifically, the airline will increase from 10 to 12 weekly flights between Adelaide and Changi Airport from October 25, 2026, until March 27, 2027.
All flights will be operated by the Boeing 787-10, the most spacious aircraft in the Singapore Airlines fleet after the Airbus A380, with 337 seats.

Adelaide Airport’s Chief Executive, Brenton Cox, welcomed the announcement as a significant moment for the airport and South Australian travelers: “We want to meet the growing demand from our Australian customers by giving them access to our network, offering numerous direct connections to Asia and Europe.”
For his part, Foo Chai Woo, Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President for the South Western Pacific, said: “Building on our continued support of the South Australian market and robust travel demand to and from Adelaide, we are pleased to offer our customers even more choice and capacity with 12 weekly services starting in October 2026.”
Adelaide, a rising hub to Asia
Singapore Airlines is not the only airline strengthening its presence in Adelaide. Cathay Pacific, which returned to the South Australian capital in November 2025 with three seasonal weekly flights, will increase its offering to five flights per week. China Southern Airlines, which converted its seasonal service to Guangzhou into a permanent route, will increase to a daily flight between December 1, 2026, and March 10, 2027, adding 1,064 additional weekly seats. China Eastern also launched a direct route from Shanghai last June.
