Jetstar has officially launched a flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka. This is a year-round, non-stop service from Melbourne. It is the Australian low-cost carrier’s first-ever destination in the South Asian country.
The JQ5 flight (operating every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday) departs Melbourne at 12:00 PM and arrives in Colombo at 5:50 PM. The return flight departs the Sri Lankan capital at 7:50 PM and lands in Melbourne the following day at 10:00 AM. These times are valid from August 25 to October 3 and may be adjusted thereafter to account for the switch to Australian Daylight Saving Time.
This flight is operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner (314 + 21), currently undergoing interior refurbishment, which will eventually include more business class seats and the addition of onboard Wi-Fi.
A flash sale to celebrate the flight launch
To mark this event, Jetstar has launched a limited-time promotional offer: a 48-hour flash sale, starting on August 25 at noon, offering one-way fares from 319 Australian dollars. This promotion applies to selected travel dates from mid-February 2027 onwards, and seats are limited.
